What is a graffiti generator?

A graffiti generator draws your text on an HTML canvas with open-source marker and block fonts, then exports a PNG you can save or paste into design apps. It is not a font you install and it is not copy-paste Unicode. You type a word, style it, and download an image file.

This graffiti generator loads eight WOFF2 fonts through the browser FontFace API: Permanent Marker, Rock Salt, Bungee Shade, Bangers, Rubik Spray Paint, Anton, Black Ops One, and Creepster. None of them are custom lettering from a graffiti writer. They are open-source substitutes that read well on a canvas at poster sizes.

After the fill and outline draw, a procedural spray layer scatters seeded dots along glyph edges. The intensity slider controls how many speckles appear. A drop shadow sits six pixels down and right with a twelve-pixel blur when the toggle is on. The result is an image file, which is why the tool fits Instagram stories and shirt mockups better than Discord chat boxes.

How do you use the graffiti generator?

Type up to thirty characters, pick one of four graffiti-style fonts, set fill and outline colors, adjust spray intensity, then download a PNG or copy the image to your clipboard. Everything runs in your browser with no upload and no account.

  1. Type a word or short phrase in the text box. Keep it under thirty characters so the layout stays readable on the 800 by 600 canvas.
  2. Pick a font: Permanent Marker for clean tags, Rock Salt for handwritten street style, Bungee Shade for block bubble letters, or Bangers for comic book blocks.
  3. Set text color, outline color, outline width, spray intensity, and background. Transparent backgrounds export with alpha so you can drop the PNG onto photos or posters.
  4. Watch the live preview update. The spray layer uses a seeded pattern so the same settings always produce the same speckle placement.
  5. Click Download PNG for a full-resolution file, or Copy image to paste into Discord, Instagram stories, or a design tool that accepts images.

Which graffiti font should you pick?

FontStyleBest forWhere it breaks
Permanent MarkerClean marker tagShort words, five to eight characters, sticker mockupsLong phrases look like a grocery list, not a tag
Rock SaltHandwritten streetNames, signatures, casual slant on story slidesThin strokes fade below roughly forty-eight pixel cap height
Bungee ShadeBlock bubble with shadingLogos, album art, bold single words on merch previewsBuilt-in 3D layers plus a thick outline can look heavy on small PNGs
BangersComic book blockAll-caps shout text, event flyers, gaming clan badgesLowercase letters still render but lose the comic punch

Where can you use graffiti text?

Graffiti PNGs work anywhere images are accepted: Instagram story stickers, Discord profile banners, TikTok overlays, print-on-demand mockups, and slide decks. They do not work in plain text fields, chat boxes that only accept characters, or places that strip pasted images. Export transparent PNGs when you need the background to show through.

Can you use graffiti text on Instagram?

Yes, as an image. Upload the PNG to Stories or Reels as a sticker layer, or place it in a carousel slide. Instagram does not let you paste canvas art into the bio text field itself. Bios still expect Unicode or plain ASCII. Export with a transparent background when you want the photo behind the letters to show through.

Does graffiti text work on Discord?

Discord accepts pasted images in chat and profile banners when your account tier allows banner uploads. It does not render PNG text inside usernames or channel titles. Those fields stay plain text with optional Unicode tricks from the other tools on this site. Treat this generator as art for posts, not as a username font replacer.

Can you print graffiti text on a t-shirt?

You can upload the PNG to print-on-demand templates at 800 by 600 pixels, which is enough for chest prints on mockups though not huge back pieces. Use transparent exports and check font licenses before selling shirts. Raster art upscales softly, so keep designs simple and avoid tiny detail you might regret at large sizes.

What are the limits of this tool?

This is not lettering.

Output is a flat PNG, not copy-pasteable text. The eight fonts are open-source stand-ins, not hand-painted graffiti from a specific writer. The spray layer is procedural dots, not photo reference. There is no SVG or vector export, and the canvas is fixed at eight hundred by six hundred pixels.

  • You cannot edit individual letters after export without redrawing in an art app.
  • Very long strings shrink until strokes look thin, which is why the input caps at thirty characters.
  • Wall background is a gray speckle pattern, not a photo of brick or concrete.
  • Copy image depends on browser clipboard support; Safari on iOS may fall back to download.

Frequently asked questions

What is a graffiti generator?
A graffiti generator renders styled text on a canvas and exports it as a PNG image. This one uses eight open-source webfonts, a procedural spray speckle layer, optional drop shadow, and outline controls. You download art, not a font file and not Unicode text you can paste into a bio field.
Is this graffiti generator free?
Yes. There is no signup, no watermark, and no export limit in the browser tool. You pay nothing to download PNGs. The fonts are open-source under Apache 2.0 or SIL OFL licenses, stored as WOFF2 files on this site.
Can I use the output for commercial work?
The tool itself does not restrict commercial use, but you must follow each font license. Permanent Marker and Rock Salt use Apache 2.0. Bungee Shade and Bangers use SIL Open Font License 1.1. Read the license files in public/fonts before selling merch or client work. The procedural spray and shadow are generated here, not third-party assets.
What resolution is the PNG?
Every export is 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels tall at 1x scale, regardless of how large the preview appears on your screen. Mobile browsers still download the full canvas size when you tap Download PNG. Zoomed previews on small phones do not change the file dimensions.
Can I remove the background?
Yes. Choose Transparent in the background options before you export. The PNG keeps an alpha channel so checkerboard areas become see-through in apps that support transparency. Solid color and wall texture backgrounds bake a flat or speckled fill into the file instead.
Why does my text get cut off?
Long strings shrink to fit ninety percent of the canvas width, but anything over thirty characters is rejected at the input. Multi-word text breaks into up to three lines with tighter line spacing. If letters still clip, shorten the phrase or pick a narrower font like Rock Salt instead of Bungee Shade.
